Pilot activities

We work with health services to develop new volunteering activities to support people and the NHS.

The following volunteering activities are available in limited areas of England.

Ambulance Support

Working with Yorkshire Ambulance Service and East of England Ambulance Service

Volunteer Responders support ambulance crew who are waiting to hand over patients at Accident and Emergency departments. They provide them with refreshments and the opportunity for a friendly chat.

Connect

Working within Buckinghamshire, Birmingham and Kirklees

Volunteers support people to take part in hobbies or social activities in the home or in their community. This can vary from helping someone to access a social activity, accompanying them on walks to helping with baking at home. Volunteers are not able to support certain tasks (e.g. personal care, cleaning) – please see Connect activities for a full list
