Process changes for NHS Volunteer Responders
We make regular changes and improvements to the NHS Volunteer Responder programme and to the GoodSAM Responder app to enhance your volunteering experience.

New features in the GoodSAM app (under the ‘Me’ tab) to support you include:
Currently the system automatically sets the maximum distance for each task, which varies dependent on the task type e.g. Community Response tasks will have a different set distance to Patient Transport. You can now select your own maximum distance that you would like to receive tasks for.
Many volunteers have asked to have the option to change the siren alert sound. You can now select one of 7 sounds; simply select the ‘Me’ tab and scroll through the options.
We will be rolling out the ability to provide ‘check-in and chat’ to those that share the same language. You can now select up to 3 languages that you speak, and we will be able to match you to those who would love to have a conversation in their preferred language.
